Suggested citation

The notion of executive functions widely used in foreign psychology is analyzed. The historical roots of this notion, its structure, content, basic characteristics are considered; the modern representations of executive functions in cognitive psychology and neuropsychology are discussed. Great attention is given to possibilities of using the notion of executive functions while carrying out empirical researches.
