Different approaches to understanding organizational participation are analyzed. Theoretical approaches related to investigation of employees' participation efficiency and influence, conditions that made participation possible and methods of studying differences in participation types are considered. The results of the study of a sample of state and commercial organizations employees (79 respondents) using "Participation Questionnaire LO" are presented. The questionnaire was developed by LINOR research group (University of Aarhus, Denmark) and was used in Russia for the first time. The obtained results show that employees hardly feel their own influence on in-house decision-making and organizational processes.
