The analysis of phenomenology and mechanisms of mental development and self-development within the frames of multiparadigm approach that combines both humanitarian and natural scientific paradigms proves the necessity of studying basic factors of emotional, cognitive and personal development based on synergetic, evolutionary and involutionary approaches as well as studying culture and social situation as factors forming personal space. The theoretical and empiric data presented in this paper substantiate the role of emotional experience as mechanism of development and self-development; reveal the influence of positive and negative, social and individual emotional experience on the two processes; and allow to identify two levels of mental development.
