Аннотация

В то время как философия и естествознание (последнее – по крайней мере со времен развития квантовой механики и общей теории систем) не видят оснований для принципиального противопоставления идей причинности и свободы, обыденное сознание (включая обыденное сознание научных работников) по-прежнему рассматривает эти две идеи как сущностно несовместимые. Для странного и внезапного обострения дискуссии по проблеме «детерминизм или свобода воли» в последние годы не видно никаких научных оснований. Для объяснения этого факта необходимо обратиться к биологическим основаниям свободы действия. На самом базальном уровне свобода является необходимым следствием усложнения поведения животных, то есть можно показать, что сложное поведение по необходимости свободно. Этот анализ ведет к переопределению понятия свободы (и тесно связанных с ним понятий ценности и ответственности), по сравнению с теми определениями, которые можно найти в современной психологической литературе. Современная дискуссия «детерминизм или свобода воли» обусловлена, по-видимому, тем, что эти понятия (свобода, ценность и ответственность) действительно противоречат – но не естествознанию, а определенной и весьма распространенной картине мира как (в принципе) познаваемой, рациональной и просчитываемой среды.
